Rockpool Trading is the culmination of many years of daydreaming, brainstorming, straw polling and finger-crossing by myself, Helen, and my husband, Brendan.
Born and bred in Plymouth, Brendan and I love Devon and Cornwall. REALLY love it. We’ve grown up here, returned from far-flung corners of the globe to live here, worked here and championed here. We’ve followed the mighty (but not always victorious) Plymouth Argyle to away games all over the country and got engaged on beautiful Sennen beach in Cornwall. Put bluntly, we think this part of the world is the bees-knees.
In 2011 we took the plunge and started up Rockpool Trading online, with the aim of supporting local producers and promoting life in the South West. Since then we've grown slowly but surely and built a loyal following of customers who love our selection of locally made pieces.
In March 2015 we were delighted to open our first shop, in Plymouth's historic Barbican district. Situated in The House That Jack Built on Southside Street, our cosy little shop is our pride and joy, and represents the culmination of 4 years of late nights, early mornings and multi-tasking on a whole new level!
We’re still a small (but we hope, beautifully formed) company, and we focus on individual, handmade gifts and homeware from hugely creative people from the south west of the UK. If it’s made from recycled, reclaimed, ethically sourced or organic materials, all the better.
